To be a community that develops a strong, authentic relationship with Jesus, forms meaningful relationships with each other and empowered to share the life transforming truth of the gospel through our words and actions with our community and the world.
For youth to know their Identity in Christ, Love others as Jesus loves us, live in a constant state of Praise and Worship to God, Serve others as Jesus did and Send Out disciples.
In order to accomplish the mission and vision God's given us, we will be guided by the following values:
We are committed to the Word of God as the foundation and final authority for life and ministry. We discipline ourselves to study it diligently, apply it daily, and teach its truth to young people.
We are committed to pray for the salvation of lost youth and for the empowerment of God’s Holy Spirit in living everyday gospel-centered lives.
We are committed to creating a safe space for youth to be open and honest about their struggles and shortcomings. We will teach youth not only the importance of confessing our sins, but also the value of a community keeping one another accountable and lifting each other up through prayer.
We are passionate and committed to incorporate youth into the church. We will rely on them, hold them accountable, develop their gifts, train them and mobilize them for ministry and mission.
Just as we are called to be there for those going through hardships, we are also called to be there for those that are thriving. We will teach youth the importance of celebrating the good work God has done for not only ourselves, but others as well.
Youth group meets every Wednesday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. We hang out, play games, and dig into scripture together in small groups after our lesson. This time is meant to be a great opportunity for students to invite their friends and get to hear about God as we go through a book of the Bible or a relevant topic. Our events throughout the year are designed to build community among the students and help serve the neighborhood around us. Our small groups are designed to provide an environment where students can get to know others on a deeper level, ask honest questions and grow in their faith.
Our Student Leader Team is a group of students who aspire to use their gifts, talents and skills to serve the youth ministry. They meet every other week to study the Bible, learn leadership principles and skills, plan events and serve the church. If your son or daughter is interested in joining this team, reach out to our Youth Pastor, Linnea McDonald at linnea@arborheights.org, for more information!
Every other Sunday, middle school and high school students gather in our youth room, during the service, to study the Bible together, share about their weeks and pray. We call this group "Grapple" as students "grapple" with their faith. This is a great opportunity for them to build community and deepen their walk with Christ.
